A “zero start” gas geyser is a type of gas water heater that is designed to provide hot water instantaneously, without the need for a pilot light to remain constantly lit.
In traditional gas water heaters, a pilot light is kept burning continuously to ignite the main burner whenever hot water is needed. This constant burning of the pilot light can consume gas even when hot water is not being used, leading to energy inefficiency.
Zero start gas geysers, on the other hand, incorporate electronic ignition systems that only ignite the pilot light when hot water is requested. When a hot water tap is turned on, the electronic ignition system automatically activates, sparking the pilot light to ignite the main burner and heat the water as it flows through the system. Once the hot water tap is turned off, the pilot light is extinguished until it is needed again.
The term “zero start” refers to the fact that the pilot light is not continuously burning when hot water is not in use, thereby reducing gas consumption and energy wastage. This design makes zero start gas geysers more energy-efficient compared to traditional models with constantly burning pilot lights.
