Product Description
Venus has been at the forefront of the water heater bussiness for over 50 years now.Wirh a wide range of models that has given warmth to millions of famiies across India. Innovating constantly, One of the innovations is a hot water heater that uses solar power, Saving people tons of money on their power bill, as well as helping conserve energy.
Solar Water Heater – With the spiralling cost of electricity this healthy alternative to heating water not only saves money but also runs for a long, long time. Venus has introduced vacuum tube technology in Solar water heaters for the first time.
INTRODUCTION TO VENUS (VTC) ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
We at Venus believe in bringing the benefits of the latest technology to our consumers. Now, in Solar Water Heaters too Venus introduces “Vacuum tube collectors” for the first time in India. Internationally renowned & accepted, this technology is superior to other prevalent systems in performance, reliability & ease of installation. Breakthrough technology that taps the unlimited power of the sun to give you enormous energy savings year after year.
Working of Venus VTC Solar Water Heater
The Venus Vacuum Tube Collector solar water heater is made up of rows of parallel, transparent glass tubes. Each tube consists of a glass outer tube and an inner tube, or absorber, covered with a selective coating that absorbs solar energy well but inhibits radioactive heat loss. The air is withdrawn (“evacuated”) from the space between the tubes to form a vacuum, which eliminates conductive and convective heat loss.
The Vacuum tube collector absorbs the heat from the solar radiation & heats up the water stored in the system through the Thermosiphonic effect.
What is Thermosiphonic Effect
A thermosiphon system relies on warm water rising, a phenomenon known as natural convection, to circulate water through the collectors and to the tank. In this type of installation, the tank must be above the collector. As water in the collector heats, it becomes lighter and rises naturally into the tank above. Meanwhile, cooler water in the tank flows down pipes to the bottom of the collector, causing circulation throughout the system. This is called Thermosiphonic Effect. This process continues steadily for a numer of hours till the water stored in the tank is heated up. Very high Temperatures upto 80-85 °C can be had from such a system.
The water heated in this manner is stored overnight in the insulated storage tank and is available for use the next day.
Features
Heating from infrared rays of solar radiation
Greater absorption area per day
Minimum heat loss from the system due to the vacuum tubes & PUF insulated storage tank
Better performance in winter & on cloudy days. Up to 10ºC higher temperature
Maintance free, easy to clean
Inner tank and outer tank body are made from SS304 superior grade stainless steel to withstand corrosions and to last a life time
Compact size – low height & lesser space required for installation.
Installation Requirements
Unobstructed sunlight on a flat or slopping roof
Shadow-free area
Close to the bathrooms to avoid long piping & heat losses
A water tank at a minimum of 2.5m (7 ft) above roof level
The solar collector tubes facing south.
Usage
Besides individual houses, the VTC solar water heater is also ideal for schools, hostels, hotels, dairies, breweries, canteens and industries like automotive, fertilizer, chemical, textiles, pharmaceuticles, etc.
